During the 2016 Town Meeting and Town Ballot, a strong majority of Harvard residents voted to approve the first of two steps for the HES building project, including an feasibility study and proposal of design options for the future of Hildreth Elementary School. This vote will allow us to move forward in our partnership with the Massachusetts School Building Authority, which is providing technical guidance as well as a 46% reimbursement for this project.
Over the next year, the HES Building Committee and Visioning Committee will work to examine current and future needs at HES. The Building Committee has selected an Owner's Project Manager and is in the process of selecting an architectural firm to help in this assessment. It is projected that a construction/renovation proposal will be presented to the town by Spring 2017, with potential construction and/or renovation work to be completed around 2020.
